GENERAL NOTES:
- All messages with the commands must be sent to the APRS destination DAGA.
- All messages sent back by DAGA end with an asterisk (*) and a random character. This is only to make each APRS packet unique. Don't pay attention to it.
- All commands can be sent WITH or WITHOUT blank spaces between them and their value(s),
f.i., REA2BI055 is as valid as R EA2/BI-055 or R EA2 BI 055 .
- You don't have to be "Joined" to send spots or set/change other parameters, only to receive spots. This is to reduce the number of packets travelling through the APRS net unnecessarily.
- If you send some of the commands (Mycall, Reference or Filter) alone (without any parameter/s), DAGA will answer with the value already stored.
- All the SSIDs of a callsign share the same Filter, Reference and Mycall values. The Unjoin command also affects to all of them.
You can use any -SSID following your callsign to send the commands and they will be applied to all your -SSIDs.
For example, if you send the FB2 command (receive only 2m band spots) as EA2AAA-5, this FBilter will be applied also to EA2AAA-2, EA2AAA-3, ..., EA2AAA-6, etc.
COMMAND | DESCRIPTION | |
---|---|---|
J | Join | Start receiving spots. |
U | Unjoin | Stop receiving spots. You can still use the rest of the commands. * NOTE: The system will Unjoin you automatically 4 hours after your last command to avoid sending spots to "unactive clients" across the APRS network and thus, reducing unnecessary traffic. If you are activating a summit for more than 4 hours -and you have not sent any command during that period- just send a J command to start receiving spots again. |
M | Mycall | the callsign which will be used in your next spots (often your callsign followed by /P) Example: MEA2AAA/P or M EA2AAA/P (remember that you don't have to put any spaces) This value will be stored until you delete it using the MD command, so you can let it unchanged for consecutive activations. |
MD | Delete Mycall | Manually delete the callsign you've been using during your activation. The stored value will be reset to your "basic" callsign, and you will have to enter a new M value before starting your next activation. |
R | Reference | The SOTA reference of the summit you are to activate. The references can be sent with or without any symbol ( "/" or "-" ) DAGA will put them on place. Example: REA2BI055, R EA2BI055 or REA2/BI-055 will be changed to EA2/BI-055 before sending your spots to SOTAWATCH. * NOTE: This value will be stored until you delete it. This way, you don't have to type it on every spot, DAGA will do it for you. If you don't change your SOTA reference after 6 hours since you set it, the system will erase it automatically. |
RD | Delete Ref. | Manually delete the summit reference you have been using. |
P | Post | Post your spots. You must type only frequency and mode, the callsign and reference will be caught from the M and R commands. |
The syntax is: P FREQ (IN KHz!!!) MODE. Example: P14064C or P 14064 C will be posted as 14.060 MHz CW. (Again, DAGA will format it before sending the spot to SOTAWATCH). Here is the only case in which you can use the decimal point, to send f.i. 14060.5 KHz CW (P14060.5C). Only one decimal is allowed. | ||
* Valid MODES are the same that in SOTAWATCH: - A AM - C CW - D Data - F FM - O Other modes - S SSB - V Digital Voice (Be aware that D is Data!) | ||
NOTES: * Remember that before using the P command, you must set MYCALL and REFERENCE.These values will be used later on every spot until changed. ** As far as you don't change your operating MODE, you don't have to send the MODE on the following spots. Until you change it again, the frequency will be enough. *** You can only send a maximum of 3 spots every 10 minutes. The excess will be ignored and not sent to SOTAWATCH. | ||
FILTERS FOR RECEIVING SPOTS | ||
FM | Mode filter | The mode filter to be applied to the spots you'll receive. |
Valid values are: - FMX Reset filter to all modes. - FMC only CW - FMS only SSB - FMA only AM - FMF only FM - FMD only DATA - FMV only Digital Voice - FMO only Other modes | ||
* NOTE: More than one value can be used. For example: | ||
FMCS will send you CW and SSB spots. FMSAF will send you SSB, AM and FM spots. | ||
FB | Band filter | The band filter to be applied to the spots which will be received. |
Valid values are: - FBX Reset filter to all bands. - FBnnn for HF & VHF bands, 160-2 meters: 1-3 digits of the band IN METERS - FBU only UHF bands - FBS only SHF bands Examples: FB160: only 160m spots, FBU: only UHF spots, FB6: only 6m spots, FB20: only 20m band spots. | ||
FC | Cont. filter | The Continent filter to be applied to the spots to be received. |
Valid values are: - FCX Reset filter to all continents - FCN only North America - FCS only South America - FCE only Europe - FCF only aFrica - FCA only Asia - FCO only Oceania | ||
* The F command alone, will return the actual values of your FM, FB and FC filters. | ||
** The FM, FB and FC filters can be combined to receive only the spots you're interested in the most. For example, if you send FMC, FB40 and FCE, only spots on 40m band, CW and from european summits will be sent to you. | ||
L | List last | DAGA will answer with the last 3 spots corresponding to your filter(s). If you haven't set any filter before, the 3 last spots will be sent back to you, no matter which band, mode or continent. Only spots one hour old or less will be sent. Otherwise, "No spots" message will be answered. |
H | How? | This command will send you back all your stored parameters: if you are Joined or not, Mycall, Reference, Filter(s), etc. |
Gxx | Language | Set/Change the language of DAGA messages. Values are 2 character ISO codes. By now, EU (Basque), ES (Spanish), EN (English), FR (French), and DE (German) are available. e.g.: GEU sets the language to Basque language. |
Hx | Help cmd X | Help about a command. i.e.: HL will answer with a short resume of the List command functionality. |
