What is DAGA?
DAGA is a system to send and receive SOTA spots using APRS messaging devices, avoiding the need of depending on mobile phones while activating.
SOTAWATCH, APRS, LoRa and DMR networks are linked by DAGA in the simplest possible way, with easy and short commands, simplifying the operation with small talkie keyboards and reducing the key strokes to the minimum.
With DAGA you are allowed not only to send spots, as other systems do, but also to receive them from SOTAWATCH, filtered by the operator's needs, and only by means of amateur radio networks and devices.
Where does the name "DAGA" come from?
Well, we wanted to keep the system as simple as possible, and the characters D, A and G are the first characters assigned to a key on a walkie-talkie keypad. This makes typing the APRS destination name easier. That way, you won't have to type as much on the keyboard, and along an activation, the less you have to type, the better.
Which is our goal?
Being able to send and receive SOTA spots using amateur radio networks (APRS, LoRa, DMR, APRS-IS, etc.) from ham radio terminals like talkies, transceivers, trackers or even mobile phones (not recommended) with the less possible typing effort.
